David Myrold
Professor, Soil Microbiology Forest Soils
Crop & Soil Science

Professor David Myrold has been part of the community at Oregon State University for the past 22 years. As a professor in the Crop & Soil Sciences department, David has also been influencing students and faculty members alike. Over the years he has been teaching and conducting research on soil microbiology and forest soils.

Before becoming a faculty member here at Oregon State, David studied for a PhD in Microbiology at Michigan State University. When Oregon State offered him a job he gladly took it and says that "it has been fun and rewarding ever since."

Evidence of his influence at our university, David took part in a research project funded by the National Science Foundation – the H.J. Andrews Microbial Observatory. For more information on this organization and the work that they have been conducting, please visit the Oregon Agricultural Process magazine website. This observatory is dedicated to the study of bacteria and fungi central to biogeochemical processes in coniferous forest ecosystems in the Central Cascade Mountains of Oregon.

Aside from his influence within his own department, David has also been using the OSU Motor Pool’s vehicles since his time began here at Oregon State University. David, thank you for being our wonderful customer for the past 22 years!
